Analysis of mass distribution in paper

We are able to analyse the mass distribution of fibres in a paper web. We will get from this characteristic figures for the quality of a headbox.

To do this,  we need about 20 layers of paper from outside of tambour. From this we calculate the performance of the sheet forming section and of the headbox.

From the distribution of all measurements we calculate

• deviation of measurements in machine direction (MD)
• deviation of measurements in cross direction (CD)
• residual deviation of measurements , which tells us something about the quality of the sheet forming section
